Chinese President Xi Jinping touched down in Busan, the Republic of Korea (ROK), on Thursday, ahead of the 32nd APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Gyeongju.
After meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, Xi stressed that China and the United States are fully capable of helping each other succeed and prosper.
“China’s development and revitalization goes hand in hand with President Trump’s vision to 'Make America Great Again,'” Xi said, highlighting shared economic goals.
“China and the United States should be partners and friends,” he added. “That is what history has taught us and what reality needs.”
Looking forward, Xi affirmed, “I am ready to continue working with you to build a solid foundation for China-U.S. relations and create a sound atmosphere for the development of both countries.”
