In a turbulent global landscape marked by security challenges, development gaps, and governance pressures, certainty has become a prized asset. A three-year survey of 59,000 respondents in 46 countries by CGTN and Renmin University highlights why confidence in China is now a global consensus.
Economic Resilience and Opportunity
By 2025, 78% of respondents say China’s ability to withstand risks is on the rise, a figure up 34 percentage points over three years. Nearly 82% are optimistic about China’s long-term growth, and 85% see its economy as vital to stabilizing global supply chains. Young adults aged 18–44 offer even stronger support, with 90% applauding China’s economic strength.
Despite rising protectionism, 80% rate China’s business environment as highly attractive, while 73% regard it as an open and competitive market. Almost 80% of participants believe their own economies benefit from trade with China, with Africa (91%), South America (85%) and Oceania (78%) among the most enthusiastic regions.
Cultural Influence and Innovation
The Global Civilization Initiative has resonated worldwide: 91% of respondents agree that respecting cultural diversity is fundamental, and 90% believe collaboration is key to tackling shared challenges. Over 88% value cultural innovation alongside heritage protection, and 89% call for deeper cultural exchanges to boost mutual understanding.
Innovation tops the list for 61% as the most striking feature of Chinese civilization, with 77% closely following advances in Chinese technology. More than 90% praise China’s scientific strength, and 81% credit its contributions to global science and technology. Notably, 81% see China leading the way in setting global AI standards, especially in Kenya, Indonesia, Brazil and Turkey.
New Model of Diplomatic Leadership
China’s vision of a community with a shared future for humanity earns 67% approval worldwide, rising to 74% among those under 34. Over two thirds appreciate China’s path of peaceful development and respect for sovereignty, both up significantly since 2023. Nearly 70% view China’s active role in global governance as positive.
Approval of China’s diplomatic model is especially strong in the Global South, and even among G7 respondents more than half affirm China’s leadership in shaping fairer, more inclusive global cooperation.
As the world seeks stability and collaboration, this survey underlines China’s growing role as a dependable partner in driving economic growth, cultural exchange, and diplomatic innovation.
