China Esports Gains Global Traction at LoL Worlds: TES & AL in Quarters

Beijing buzzed with energy last Friday as the Swiss Stage of the League of Legends Season 15 (S15) World Championship wrapped up. Two teams from the China region—Top Esports (TES) and Anyone’s Legend (AL)—secured their spots in the quarterfinals with impressive consistency.

The final matchday featured a thrilling LPL showdown. Third seed TES overcame a 0-1 deficit to clinch the last quarterfinal berth against top seed Bilibili Gaming (BLG), showcasing resilience under pressure. Meanwhile, South Korea’s LCK made a statement by sending all four of its teams forward without a hitch.

Next stop: Shanghai. On Tuesday, AL will take on defending champion T1, led by the legendary Faker, in what promises to be a tactical duel. Shortly after, TES will face off against longtime European rival G2 Esports from the LEC, aiming to extend China’s strong run.

The S15 grand final is set for November 9th in Chengdu City, marking the climax of a tournament that’s not only a battle of champions, but also a showcase of the growing global impact of China esports.
