At the Global Mayors Dialogue in Jingdezhen, east China’s Jiangxi Province, Davide Agresti, vice mayor of Faenza, Italy, shared his excitement about the city’s evolving role on the world stage.
"Making people from all around the world come together here in Jingdezhen and experience what has become a global movement for ceramics, for pottery and clay … that's a big achievement," Agresti told CGTN’s Zhang Meng. He highlighted how Jingdezhen has grown from a historic porcelain center into a vibrant hub of cultural dialogue and creative exchange.
Once known simply as the "Porcelain Capital," Jingdezhen now welcomes artists, entrepreneurs, and enthusiasts from every continent. Workshops, exhibitions, and open studios offer a hands-on way to connect over clay, while conversations at international events spark new collaborations and innovations.
Agresti’s remarks underscored a broader trend: ceramics has become a universal language, bridging traditions and inspiring tomorrow’s changemakers. As Jingdezhen continues to open its kilns to the world, its legacy shines brighter than ever.
