China Launches New Low-Orbit Satellite Network

At 3:08 p.m. Beijing Time on Friday, a modified Long March-6 rocket roared skyward from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in Shanxi Province in the Chinese mainland, carrying a new satellite group destined for low Earth orbit.

Once in place, this cluster will form the Spacesail Constellation, a commercial low-orbit satellite network aimed at boosting connectivity and data services across diverse industries.

The flawless deployment marked the 601st flight of the Long March carrier rocket family, highlighting decades of sustained launch experience and the growing momentum behind commercial space ventures in the Chinese mainland.
