In July 2024, over 200 university students from the Chinese mainland and the U.S. gathered on the leafy campus of Peking University for the “Zhi-Xing China: U.S. Youth Leaders Dialogue”.
Representing nearly 50 universities—from Beijing and Shanghai to Boston and Los Angeles—participants engaged in roundtable talks on youth exchanges, climate innovation, and emerging technologies. Backed by data-driven case studies, they explored how joint efforts can tackle environmental challenges and accelerate digital breakthroughs.
Beyond discussions, the event featured table tennis matches that sparked laughter and friendly rivalry. In cultural workshops, delegates immersed themselves in traditional arts, deepening their appreciation of Chinese heritage while offering insights into their own local customs.
Many delegates highlighted how the weekend shattered stereotypes and revealed common motivations. These exchanges strengthen mutual understanding and lay the groundwork for grassroots initiatives that bolster healthy U.S.-Chinese relations.
As the final session concluded, students departed with new connections and actionable ideas—proof that youth diplomacy can chart a path toward a more collaborative, globally minded future.
