China Coast Guard Urges Philippines to Halt Airspace Intrusions at Huangyan Dao

In a stern warning on Thursday, the China Coast Guard (CCG) called on the Philippines to immediately cease aircraft operations over Huangyan Dao after two Philippine aircraft illegally entered the airspace above the island, describing the move as "infringements and provocations."

CCG spokesperson Liu Dejun said the Philippines had used groundless excuses to approach sea and airspace near Huangyan Dao, actions that he said "seriously infringe on China's sovereignty and undermine regional peace and stability."

"Huangyan Dao has always been part of China's territory," Liu added, emphasizing that the CCG will "continue to strengthen law enforcement for safeguarding rights in waters under Chinese jurisdiction" and will "resolutely safeguard the country's territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests."
