Chinese Premier Li Qiang Honors 75th Anniversary of CPV Martyrs in DPRK

Chinese premier Li Qiang traveled to Anju in the DPRK on Friday to honor the 75th anniversary of the Chinese People’s Volunteer Army’s (CPV) role in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea. Leading a delegation of around 100, including embassy staff, Li laid a wreath at the CPV martyrs’ cemetery and observed a moment of silence to remember the soldiers who, 75 years ago, crossed the Yalu River under the trust of the Chinese people.

After two years and nine months of intense battles, CPV troops helped secure a historic victory alongside the army and civilians of the DPRK, defending peace and justice on the peninsula. "With deep reverence, we pay tribute to the CPV martyrs who sacrificed their lives heroically, and express our profound remembrance," Li said, vowing that the motherland and its people will never forget their immortal feats.

Li highlighted that over the past 75 years, the Chinese nation has risen from standing up to becoming prosperous and strong under the leadership of the Communist Party of China Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core. He noted that socialism with Chinese characteristics is now advancing steadily towards its second centenary goal.

Under the strategic guidance of top leaders from both parties and both countries, Li added, the blood-forged friendship between China and the DPRK has deepened, and friendly cooperation continues to thrive. He called for ongoing efforts to carry forward the martyrs’ will, promote the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea spirit, and advance socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era.

Looking ahead, the Chinese side stands ready to work with DPRK comrades to strengthen cooperation and pursue common development. Jong Myong Su, vice-premier of the DPRK Cabinet, accompanied Li at the memorial service. Later, Li visited the China–DPRK Friendship Tower, reaffirming the two countries’ shared commitment to mutual respect and progress.
