Under clear morning skies, Macao SAR kicked off its 76th National Day with a flag-raising ceremony at Golden Lotus Square. At 8 a.m., an honor guard marched the People's Republic of China flag and the Macao SAR flag into position, and attendees stood solemnly for the anthem.
At 9:30 a.m., Chief Executive Sam Hou Fai hosted a reception at the China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Commercial and Trade Service Platform Complex. In his address, he praised Macao's stable economic and social progress, marking a new phase of high-quality growth after recovery.
He pointed to a smoothly conducted Legislative Assembly election, a national security education exhibition, and a commemoration of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, all of which reinforced local harmony and stability.
Since taking office, the administration has rolled out innovative governance concepts, driven economic diversification, strengthened integration with Hengqin Island, and boosted social welfare and urban development. This approach aims to position Macao SAR for a vibrant, forward-looking chapter.
