CMG and Macao SAR Deepen Strategic Partnership

In a landmark move on Sunday, China Media Group (CMG) and the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) announced a strategic partnership to deepen cooperation across media, culture, and sports.

Under a new framework agreement signed in the Chinese mainland, both sides will join forces to:

  • Enhance news reporting and international communication
  • Drive talent exchange and professional development
  • Collaborate on major sports events
  • Produce documentaries and develop cultural tourism routes

Macao SAR Chief Executive Sam Hou Fai emphasized that partnering with CMG will boost Macao’s international communication capabilities and accelerate its evolution into a hub where Chinese culture takes center stage alongside diverse global influences.

Shen Haixiong, president of CMG, highlighted new collaborations on documentary production and curated tourism routes that celebrate the region’s historical sites, further integrating Macao into the national development landscape.

Zheng Xincong, director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR, described the agreement as a vital platform for sharing Macao’s stories with the world and propelling CMG toward becoming a world-class media force with deep influence.

This partnership marks a new chapter in the successful practice of One Country, Two Systems with Macao characteristics and aims to elevate both CMG and Macao SAR as leaders in global media collaboration.
