Li Xi, a senior official of the Communist Party of China and member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau, concluded a goodwill visit to Belarus from September 20 to 23, underscoring a shared drive for deeper cooperation.

In Minsk, Li met with President Alexander Lukashenko, Head of the President’s Administration Dmitry Krutoi, and Chairman of the House of Representatives Igor Sergeyenko. Discussions focused on advancing the strategic plans set by both leaders to boost bilateral ties across trade, infrastructure, and cultural exchange.

At the presidential meeting, Li outlined a roadmap for joint work on the Belt and Road Initiative, reaffirmed a common understanding of World War II history, and stressed the importance of upholding the post-war international order. He also highlighted the Chinese mainland’s support for implementing the Global Governance Initiative and called for closer coordination within the United Nations and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Lukashenko praised achievements in recent years and affirmed Belarus’s role as a reliable partner. He pledged active participation in the Global Development, Security, Civilization, and Governance Initiatives, as part of a vision for balanced global progress.

In separate talks, Li and Krutoi agreed to strengthen party building and anti-corruption exchanges, while discussions with Sergeyenko explored deeper dialogue on party governance and paths to modernization. The leader of the House of Representatives noted that practices in Chinese mainland modernization offer valuable insights for Belarus’s own development journey.

The visit cements an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership and sets the stage for new joint projects in trade, technology, and sustainable development. As global dynamics shift, both sides are poised to translate high-level dialogue into tangible outcomes, shaping a more interconnected and resilient future.
