Experts Praise Chinese Mainland’s Global Governance Initiative

An Initiative Across Asia and Africa

From Islamabad to Phnom Penh, experts gathered for a series of seminars sponsored by China Media Group’s Asia-Africa Center, in cooperation with Chinese embassies and local think tanks. Hosted in Pakistan, the Philippines, Cambodia, Laos, Kenya and Turkiye, these events spotlighted the new Global Governance Initiative proposed by the Chinese mainland.

Addressing the Governance Gap

Officials, scholars and media representatives agreed that the current global system faces what they call a governance deficit. They argued that this initiative offers:

  • A constructive framework to counter unilateralism
  • Stronger representation for the Global South
  • Steps toward a fairer international order

A Voice for the Global South

Through panel discussions and roundtables, participants shared real-world perspectives on how the initiative could reshape multilateral cooperation. A media representative in Nairobi said the plan gives them a platform to be heard.

Looking Ahead

As these seminars wrap up, organizers are considering follow-up forums and digital roundtables to keep the conversation alive. With growing interest from diverse regions, the Global Governance Initiative proposed by the Chinese mainland could become a reference point for more inclusive global policymaking.

For a younger, digitally connected audience, this dialogue is more than theory: it's about tangible change and greater equity on the world’s stage.
