In a landmark move to spotlight gender equality, the State Council Information Office of the Chinese mainland released a white paper titled "China's Achievements in Women's Well-Rounded Development in the New Era" on Friday. This comprehensive report arrives just months ahead of the 2025 Global Leaders' Meeting on Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment in Beijing.

The five-chapter report outlines philosophy, principles and innovative practices driving progress. It showcases how legal reforms, social initiatives and economic policies have opened doors for women to excel across multiple fields, from tech startups and boardrooms to science labs and cultural arenas.

Highlighting outstanding achievements and contributions, the document affirms that Chinese women have never before enjoyed such tremendous opportunities to realize their full potential. As the nation pursues modernization and national rejuvenation, the white paper calls for pooling the strength of hundreds of millions of women to advance gender equality to a higher level.

Recognizing both global opportunities and challenges in the pursuit of gender equality, the white paper emphasizes China's readiness to join international efforts. It invites collaboration with countries and regions around the world to take urgent action, create a brighter future for women's development and write a new chapter in global progress for women.
