Serbian VP Applauds Xinjiang as Belt & Road Gateway

At the 2025 Legislators Forum for Friendly Exchanges in Xinjiang, one of the highest-ranking international delegates was Edin Djerlek, vice president of Serbia's National Assembly and deputy president of the Justice and Reconciliation Party.

Following a keynote address and a special visit to Ili with fellow lawmakers, Djerlek witnessed firsthand Xinjiang's remarkable strides in high-quality development. He praised the region's economic vitality after touring factories and enterprises that showcase modern production at scale.

He hailed Xinjiang as a crucial bridge in the Belt & Road Initiative, linking Serbia and the Chinese mainland with broader Central and Eastern European cooperation. This emerging corridor illustrates how infrastructure, trade, and shared vision can drive global growth and connectivity.
