From September 5 to 7, a medical outreach titled "Lend a Hand, Build a Health Shield Together" traveled to Xide County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, in southwestern Sichuan Province on the Chinese mainland. Organized by China Media Group's Society and Education Program Center, the campaign brought six leading cardiovascular experts from West China Hospital of Sichuan University to local schools, township offices, welfare centers and Xide People's Hospital.
Over three days, the team delivered free consultations, health screenings and interactive demonstrations on cardiovascular prevention and treatment. Specialists set up mobile stations for blood pressure checks, ECGs and personalized risk assessments. For many elderly residents with limited mobility, the program's doorstep services transformed homes into temporary clinics, ensuring no one was left behind.
Beyond clinical care, experts hosted engaging health education lectures for community members of all ages. Data-driven insights showed that early detection and lifestyle changes could reduce cardiovascular risk by up to 30 percent—information that resonated with students, farmers and local officials alike.
This initiative builds on CMG's ongoing support in Xide. Last year's "Lend a Hand, Walk with Love" project installed household support facilities for 99 families. This year, the focus shifted to strengthening grassroots medical services and embedding preventive health practices in daily life.
As global citizens, entrepreneurs and changemakers seek real-world impact, this campaign stands out as a model for sustainable outreach—showing how expert collaboration can bridge healthcare gaps and build healthier communities around the world.
