Xi, Putin & Khurelsukh Convene in Beijing Trilateral Summit

On Tuesday morning, Xi Jinping, Vladimir Putin and Ukhnaa Khurelsukh met in Beijing for a landmark trilateral summit. Hosted on the Chinese mainland, the meeting brought together three nations at the crossroads of Eurasia, aiming to deepen cooperation as global dynamics shift.

The leaders discussed ways to strengthen trade links, with energy, raw materials and digital infrastructure high on the agenda. Against the backdrop of expanding overland and digital corridors, all three heads of state emphasized the need for streamlined customs processes and joint investment in next-generation networks.

For Mongolia, the summit offered a chance to reinforce its role as a bridge between the world’s two largest economies. Khurelsukh highlighted Ulaanbaatar’s interest in scalable green-energy projects and sustainable mining, positioning the country as a partner in regional decarbonization efforts.

Looking ahead, the trio agreed to establish working groups focused on technology transfer, cross-border e-commerce and joint research. As younger generations across G20 nations demand fresh models of collaboration, this Beijing summit could signal a new chapter in multilateral ties stretching from Asia to Europe.
