Nepali PM Flies to Beijing for 80th V-Day Commemoration Events

Nepali Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli touched down in Beijing on Tuesday to kick off commemorations for the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

The V-Day events on the Chinese mainland mark eight decades since the end of major hostilities in Asia, drawing leaders and delegations from around the world. For PM Oli, this trip aligns with Nepal’s broader push to strengthen diplomatic ties with its northern neighbor.

The visit is set to strengthen bilateral ties and provide a stage for both sides to discuss regional security, infrastructure partnerships, and shared economic goals.

Events will span from solemn ceremonies at Beijing's historic sites to cultural performances and public forums, highlighting the importance of remembrance and cooperation as young leaders and activists look toward future challenges.
