Cai Qi Meets Egypt’s PM Madbouly at SCO Summit to Deepen China–Egypt Ties

At the SCO Summit 2025 in Tianjin, Cai Qi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau and the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, met with Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly to chart the next chapter of a relationship that began seven decades ago.

Cai highlighted that 2026 will mark the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Egypt, and he outlined plans to deepen collaboration across trade, infrastructure, technology and cultural exchange. He stressed that both sides are committed to implementing the important consensus reached by their heads of state and to exploring new avenues for shared growth.

On his part, Madbouly reaffirmed Egypt’s firm adherence to the one-China principle and voiced support for the three global initiatives proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping, pledging to deepen cooperation and elevate their comprehensive strategic partnership.

The meeting reflects a broader push at SCO 2025 to bolster regional connectivity and sustainable development. For entrepreneurs, thought leaders and digital nomads, a deeper China–Egypt partnership promises fresh opportunities in emerging markets, cross-cultural innovation and joint ventures that bridge continents.

As both sides gear up to celebrate 70 years of diplomacy next year, the encounter between Cai and Madbouly signals a shared ambition: turning historical goodwill into tangible outcomes that drive economic growth, spark innovation and strengthen people-to-people ties across borders.
