Xi’an to Host 2025 Euro-Asia Economic Forum on Sustainable Development

Xi’an, the ancient Silk Road hub in the northwest Chinese mainland province of Shaanxi, is gearing up to host the 11th edition of the Euro-Asia Economic Forum from September 23 to 25, 2025. This biennial gathering brings together global leaders, entrepreneurs and innovators to chart new pathways for collaboration across Eurasia.

Under the theme "Unleashing New Synergies in Eurasia, Co-Building a New Pattern for Sustainable Development," the forum aligns with China’s overall diplomatic strategy and shines a spotlight on the achievements of Chinese modernization. Organizers aim to build a high-level platform that fosters economic, trade and cultural exchanges while deepening people-to-people connectivity.

The program features 13 sub-forums covering industrial capacity cooperation, joint rule-making, cultural exchange, technological innovation and collaborative governance. More than 10 economic and trade activities are planned, and a white paper on the Eurasian economy under the Belt and Road Initiative will be unveiled, offering data-driven insights into regional growth trends.

Delegates are expected from member states, observer states and dialogue partners of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, as well as government and business leaders from Belt and Road Initiative partners in Central, South and West Asia. Heads of multinational corporations, international organization representatives and scholars will also join the discussions.

Since its launch in 2005, this key economic cooperation mechanism has evolved into a premier platform for fostering cross-border ties. As Xi’an leverages its Silk Road heritage and modern infrastructure, the 2025 Euro-Asia Economic Forum promises fresh perspectives and real-world impact for young global citizens, business and tech enthusiasts, thought leaders, and travelers alike.
