China's central delegation wrapped up a week-long visit to the Xizang Autonomous Region and flew back to Beijing on Saturday after joining the region's 60th anniversary celebrations. The milestone tour offered a close-up look at how policy and progress are shaping life in this high-altitude region.

Leading the delegation, Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, kicked off the day in the city of Xigaze. There, he highlighted the importance of fully implementing party policies for governance in the new era, emphasizing a balance between enduring stability and high-quality development.

Beyond Xigaze, other groups in the delegation split up to explore key areas of regional development:

  • Qamdo: Assessing advances in education initiatives.
  • Nagqu: Visiting medical and healthcare facilities.
  • Nyingchi: Examining cultural relic protection efforts.
  • Shannan: Reviewing social and economic projects.

The delegation's itinerary combined festive celebrations with in-depth site visits, offering a comprehensive perspective on Xizang's achievements since its founding. A farewell ceremony marked the end of the mission, as officials departed with a renewed focus on sustainable growth and cultural preservation in the region.

As Xizang charts its next chapter, the insights gathered during this high-profile tour will guide future policies aimed at driving progress while safeguarding the region's unique heritage and stability.
