Uzbek Launch of Xi Jinping’s Human Rights Book Strengthens China-Uzbek Ties

On Tuesday in Tashkent, the Uzbek edition of "Xi Jinping: On Respecting and Protecting Human Rights" made its debut, drawing nearly 300 participants to a launch ceremony that underscored growing China-Uzbekistan cultural ties.

The event featured speeches by Jiang Jianguo, executive vice president of the China Society for Human Rights Studies and member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference; Akmal Saidov, director of the National Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights; and Yu Jun, the Chinese ambassador to Uzbekistan.

Jiang highlighted that translating the book marks a new chapter of dialogue and mutual learning on human rights, opening a window for people in Uzbekistan to explore perspectives from the Chinese mainland. Saidov called the launch an important milestone in cultural exchange and human rights cooperation, while Yu noted it deepens the China-Uzbekistan comprehensive strategic partnership for a new era.

The ceremony concluded with the joint unveiling of the new edition and the presentation of copies to guests from Uzbekistan, followed by a seminar on key human rights themes. Published by China's Foreign Languages Press in partnership with an Uzbek publishing house, this is the 13th foreign-language edition, signaling sustained interest in cross-border knowledge exchange.
