Deliveryman’s Quick Thinking Saves Trapped Woman in Leshan SOS Pillow Incident

It was a routine afternoon in Leshan, in Sichuan Province on the Chinese mainland, when 19-year-old college student and food deliveryman Zhang Kun spotted something unusual outside a Soho building: a white pillow tumbling from above and landing at his feet.

Curious, Zhang picked it up and found the numbers '110' and '625' scrawled in what appeared to be blood. Realizing this was an SOS, he dialed 110, the emergency number on the Chinese mainland, and alerted the police.

Officers rushed to the scene and discovered a woman locked inside an apartment, struggling to get help. Thanks to Zhang's quick thinking and the timely police response, the woman was safely rescued, ending her harrowing ordeal.

'I just wanted to help,' Zhang later told reporters. 'When I saw those numbers, I knew I couldn't ignore it.'

This extraordinary act of everyday heroism is a reminder of how ordinary citizens and emergency services can team up to save lives. Sometimes, the smallest details can make all the difference.
