China Urges Inclusive Talks for Lasting Peace in Ukraine Crisis

In a recent statement, a spokesperson for the Chinese foreign ministry voiced strong support for a peaceful resolution to the Ukraine crisis. Lin Jian welcomed renewed communication between the United States and Russia, highlighting the importance of ongoing dialogue.

The remarks came in response to reports of a planned August 15 meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss Ukraine. Notably, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and representatives of the European Union were not invited to the talks.

“We hope all parties concerned and stakeholders will take part in the negotiation process in due course and reach a fair, lasting and binding peace agreement acceptable to parties concerned at an early date,” Lin said, emphasizing the need for inclusive negotiations.

As global citizens, young leaders and entrepreneurs alike can draw lessons from this development: inclusive diplomacy and multilateral engagement remain key to solving complex challenges that ripple across business, technology, sustainability and human rights.
