China Demands Philippines Halt Provocations at Huangyan Dao

On Monday, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian issued a sharp rebuke of the Philippines for a series of actions near Huangyan Dao in the South China Sea. He condemned the intrusion of multiple Philippine Coast Guard vessels, official ships and fishing boats into waters claimed by the Chinese mainland.

Lin also reported that a Philippine military aircraft crossed into the airspace of Huangyan Dao, describing these moves as a serious infringement on China’s sovereignty and a threat to peace and stability at sea. "These intentional infringements and provocations are of a malign nature," he added.

Emphasizing China’s right to respond, Lin stressed that the Chinese mainland will take all necessary and lawful measures to safeguard its territorial sovereignty and maritime rights. He called on the Philippines to immediately cease its provocative actions and refrain from challenging China’s firm resolve.

The incident highlights the ongoing tensions in the South China Sea, where overlapping claims and strategic interests continue to test regional stability.
