Friday saw the launch of the Chinese Bridge interactive experience zone at the 2025 Chengdu World Games Village, giving young athletes a chance to immerse themselves in Chinese language and culture outside competition.
Jointly organized by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education and Chengdu University, the zone invites global participants to choose a Chinese name, learn common phrases, and practice calligraphy in a lively, hands-on setting. Cooking regional dishes, painting giant pandas, and stepping into a Chinese-themed photo studio are all part of the itinerary.
Far more than a language lab, this space is designed to spark deeper cross-cultural bonds. Through shared meals, brush strokes, and laughter at the photo booth, athletes and visitors can connect across borders, making every lesson a moment toward global friendship.
In a world where sport unites but culture deepens ties, the Chinese Bridge zone offers a refreshing pause. It reminds us that every new word mastered is a bridgeonnecting hearts, traditions, and ideas for a more connected future.
