China Finalizes 12-Player Roster for FIBA Asia Cup

The Chinese national basketball team has finalized its 12-player roster for the FIBA Asia Cup, set to tip off in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from August 5-17. Forward Zhang Ning and point guard Xu Jie were late scratches, opening the door for an exciting blend of veterans and newcomers.

The squad features Wang Junjie, Zhu Junlong, Li Xiangbo, Yu Jiahao, Zhao Rui, Zhao Jiayi, Hu Jinqiu, Hu Mingxuan, Gao Shiyan, Liao Sanning, Cheng Shuaipeng and Lei Meng. China's coaching staff confirmed that selections were driven by overall preparation needs for peak performance at the Asia Cup.

Drawn into Group C alongside Saudi Arabia, India and Jordan, China—holders of a record 16 Asia Cup titles—will aim to bounce back after quarterfinal exits in the last two editions. They open their campaign against the host nation on Tuesday, eyeing a fast start to reclaim regional supremacy.
