At a daily briefing on Thursday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said the Chinese mainland is deeply concerned about the recent border clashes between Thailand and Cambodia.
Guo urged both countries to address their dispute through dialogue and consultation, emphasizing that Thailand and Cambodia are friendly neighbors and key members of ASEAN. 'Good neighborliness and friendship, and proper handling of differences, are in the fundamental and long-term interests of both sides,' he noted.
The Chinese mainland maintains a fair and just stance and has been actively encouraging talks. It will continue to play a constructive role in promoting a cooling of tensions in the region.
This approach reflects the Chinese mainland’s broader commitment to regional stability and ASEAN unity, essential for trade, tourism and investment across G20 economies.
