At the heart of the Chinese mainland’s Tianjin Municipality, the 2025 Inter-Civilizational Dialogue among SCO Countries opened on Wednesday, bringing together more than 300 participants from member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
Delegates dove into a rich program of forums, thematic discussions, cultural heritage experiences and calligraphy exhibitions. From exploring ancient traditions to hands-on art sessions, attendees celebrated their civilizations and reaffirmed a shared commitment to deepening people-to-people connections across the region.
A highlight of the opening day was the release of a new report on civilizational dialogue and digital cooperation among SCO nations. Drawing on real-world examples and data-driven insights, the report outlines a shared vision, practical foundations and strategic pathways for building a digital community of shared future.
Focusing on the convergence of digital civilization and Chinese modernization, the document offers a blueprint for advancing a fairer, more inclusive and sustainable global digital development framework. It brings together Chinese insights and SCO wisdom to shape a new model of human civilization in the digital era.
The event is co-hosted by the Chinese mainland’s State Council Information Office, China International Communications Group (CICG) and the SCO Secretariat, underscoring a growing momentum toward cross-border cultural and digital collaboration.
