He Lifeng Heads to Sweden for China-U.S. Trade Talks

He Lifeng, vice premier of the State Council and member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, will lead China-U.S. trade talks in Stockholm, Sweden, from July 27 to 30, a spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Commerce said Wednesday.

Set against a backdrop of mounting trade tensions, these negotiations come as Beijing and Washington seek to stabilize the world’s largest bilateral trade relationship. Both sides are expected to tackle tariff disputes, supply chain resilience and green technology cooperation.

Sweden’s neutral ground offers a refreshed platform for open dialogue. For entrepreneurs and tech enthusiasts, the talks could unlock new opportunities in clean energy, semiconductors and digital services—sectors that are driving growth across G20 markets.

Thought leaders will be watching for outcomes that could influence global policy on sustainability and innovation. Sports, culture and tourism industries also stand to benefit if barriers to cross-border travel and e-commerce are eased.

As Stockholm hosts these high-stakes negotiations, the world’s eyes will be on the ability of both sides to deliver real-world impact—strengthening economic ties and shaping the future of global trade.
