China and Pakistan Reaffirm Mutual Support on Core Issues

In a show of unwavering solidarity, China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi met Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Wednesday in Tianjin, located in the northern Chinese mainland. The two diplomats reaffirmed their mutual support on issues concerning each other’s core interests, setting the stage for deeper collaboration.

Building on the leaders’ strategic consensus, Wang highlighted plans to advance the China-Pakistan community with a shared future—an initiative that promises to deepen ties across agriculture, industry, and mining. Central to this vision is the high-quality development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a flagship link driving regional connectivity.

Security remains a priority. Wang expressed China’s support for Pakistan’s anti-terrorism operations and underscored the importance of safeguarding Chinese personnel, projects, and institutions. Pakistan, in turn, pledged to continue ensuring the safety of Chinese nationals and assets on its soil.

Dar reiterated Pakistan’s adherence to the one-China principle, backing China on core interests, and voiced full support for China’s preparations for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Tianjin Summit. As both sides look ahead to the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties next year, their commitment signals a robust roadmap for bilateral cooperation.
