Scheduled from July 16 to 20, the 3rd China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) is set to welcome a record 651 overseas enterprises and institutions from 75 countries and regions—35% of all participants. With more than 500 upstream and downstream partners joining those exhibitors, the event is expected to host around 1,200 companies, reflecting strong global confidence in the Chinese mainland market.
Half of the overseas participants come from Europe and the United States. U.S. exhibitors alone have grown by 15% compared to the previous edition, maintaining their spot as the largest international group. Notably, 60% of those American companies are members of the Fortune Global 500.
Newcomers make up a big chunk of this year’s lineup: over 230 organizations will attend for the first time. Among them, U.S. chip powerhouse NVIDIA will make its debut. Founder and CEO Jensen Huang is slated to join the opening ceremony, marking his third visit to the mainland this year.
Li Xingqian, vice chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, says U.S. business groups such as the American Chamber of Commerce in China, the U.S. Soybean Export Council and the U.S. Grains Council are keen to deepen ties with the mainland’s economic growth and innovation. “The essence of China-U.S. economic and trade relations lies in mutual benefit,” Li notes.
Yang Mi, director of the General Office at the council, adds that exhibitors aren’t “rivals” but “teammates,” working together to “make the cake” rather than competing for slices. This year’s expo will leverage big data and artificial intelligence to help companies “find friends” more efficiently and unlock new collaboration opportunities.
