SCO Foreign Ministers to Convene in Tianjin on July 15

On July 15, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Council of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs will convene in Tianjin at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee. The meeting will bring together foreign ministers from SCO member states and heads of the SCO’s permanent bodies.

Participants are set to exchange views on deepening cooperation across trade, security, connectivity, and the digital economy, as well as tackle major international and regional issues. This gathering underscores the SCO’s role as a vital platform for multilateral dialogue in Eurasia.

In a related development, India’s External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar will extend his visit to the Chinese mainland, highlighting the growing diplomatic engagement between the two countries ahead of the annual summit season.

As global challenges evolve, eyes will be on Tianjin to see how the SCO shapes future collaboration on security, economic growth, and sustainable development in the region.
