Bangkok – On the sidelines of the ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meetings, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Thai Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa to mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties and chart next steps in their partnership.
Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said China is willing to work with Thailand to push the building of a community with a shared future to higher levels. He also reaffirmed China's readiness to play a constructive role in promoting dialogue and de-escalation between Thailand and Cambodia over their recent border tensions.
Wang noted that the China-Thailand community with a shared future has continued to make new progress. He highlighted how both countries jointly celebrated the Golden Jubilee of China-Thailand Friendship this year, marking five decades of ties.
