China, Egypt Pledge to Protect Global Trade Order

Chinese premier Li Qiang said Thursday that China is ready to team up with Egypt to safeguard economic globalization and the international economic and trade order, highlighting the need for open markets and shared prosperity.

Speaking in Cairo during talks with Egyptian premier Mostafa Kamal Madbouly, Li stressed that both countries must defend the common interests of developing nations and push back against rising protectionism.

He pointed out that stability in the Middle East is critical not just for regional peace but for global supply chains that young entrepreneurs and tech innovators rely on to reach new markets.

By aligning goals on trade and development, Beijing and Cairo aim to send a message of solidarity: emerging economies can drive a more inclusive global economy where sustainability and stability go hand in hand.

As geopolitics adds pressure on world markets, this China–Egypt partnership could offer a blueprint for cross-border collaboration, ensuring that globalization remains a force for growth rather than division.
