Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the All-China Youth Federation and the All-China Students' Federation as their sessions opened in Beijing Wednesday morning.
Xi, who also serves as general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, called on youth and student federations to uphold the right political orientation, deepen reform, and drive innovation under Party leadership on the nation’s new journey.
He praised youth organizations for showcasing the vigorous and upward spirit of the new generation over the past five years and urged young people of all ethnic groups, from all walks of life, and students overseas to maintain firm ideals, foster a sense of responsibility, and shoulder their historic mission as the country pursues national rejuvenation through Chinese modernization.
Xi also urged Party organizations at all levels to strengthen leadership of youth work, support federations, and create favorable conditions for the healthy growth and success of young people so they can make meaningful contributions to the Chinese mainland’s future.
