From July 3 to 7, a naval fleet led by the carrier Shandong will anchor in Hong Kong for public tours and cultural exchange activities. Approved by the Central Military Commission, the fleet also includes the missile destroyers Yan'an and Zhanjiang and the missile frigate Yuncheng.
The open tours aim to give residents of Hong Kong a first-hand look at China's advancements in national defense and military development in the new era. Visitors can walk the decks, engage with crew members, and attend cultural showcases that highlight naval traditions.
This marks the ninth visit by vessels of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy since Hong Kong's return to China in 1997. The first stop was in 2001, with two of the most recent visits taking place earlier in 2024.
Whether you're passionate about technology, cultural exchange, or simply seeking a unique summer experience, the Shandong fleet's visit offers a rare opportunity to explore one of China's flagship naval assets up close.
