Shenzhou-20 Astronauts Set for Second Spacewalk on China Space Station

On Wednesday, the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) announced that the Shenzhou-20 crew will soon embark on their second extravehicular activity (EVA) outside the orbiting China Space Station. Astronauts Chen Dong, Chen Zhongrui, and Wang Jie are gearing up for another spacewalk after completing their first series of EVA operations in May.

Since their April 25 launch, the trio has spent two months in orbit, carrying out critical tasks such as environmental monitoring, equipment maintenance, cargo transfers, and inventory management. Their work keeps the station’s systems in top shape and paves the way for future scientific experiments.

The crew’s physical and mental health remains strong, according to CMSA officials, who say the astronauts are fully prepared to tackle the upcoming spacewalk. This next EVA will focus on upgrading external systems and testing new tools to support longer missions.

As the Shenzhou-20 mission continues, young space enthusiasts and tech-minded readers can follow along for real-time updates on this high-stakes endeavor that pushes the boundaries of human space exploration.
