IBM Unveils China Strategy with Local AI Innovation

IBM’s approach in China rests on three pillars: open innovation, collaborative co-creation, and deep local commitment. By teaming up with China’s enterprises across manufacturing, automotive, healthcare, and retail, IBM is embedding AI into everything from product design to supply chains and marketing.

At the 6th Qingdao Multinationals Summit, Zhang Feng, technical sales leader of IBM Greater China Group, highlighted how the fast growth and innovation drive of China’s companies is accelerating AI adoption. He noted that local use cases not only unlock new efficiencies but also fuel IBM’s own research and technology upgrades.

"China’s rich and diverse real-world use cases not only accelerate AI adoption, but also help IBM refine and upgrade its own technologies," Zhang told CGTN.

By co-creating solutions on the ground, IBM aims to stay ahead in a market where digital transformation is rewriting the rules. This collaboration model showcases how global tech giants and local innovators can jointly build the future of AI, tapping into regional talent and expertise to deliver real-world impact.
