At a press conference on Monday, China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun urged all parties to defuse tensions between Iran and Israel to prevent the region from spiraling into greater turmoil.
"China is deeply concerned about Israel's attacks on Iran," Guo said. He warned that if the conflict continues to escalate or even spill over, other countries in the Middle East will inevitably bear the brunt.
Highlighting that "force cannot bring lasting peace," he stressed that all international disputes should be settled through dialogue and consultation. "Only by upholding the vision of common security can the legitimate concerns of all parties be thoroughly addressed," Guo added.
China will remain in communication with relevant parties and promote talks for peace, he said, aiming to prevent more turmoil in the region.
For global citizens, policymakers, and changemakers, this call underlines the importance of dialogue and collaboration in addressing complex geopolitical challenges.
