CMG Launches Premium Film & TV Showcase in Astana Ahead of China-Central Asia Summit

China Media Group (CMG) rolled out a high-profile film and TV showcase in Astana on the eve of the second China-Central Asia Summit, spotlighting 12 premium titles now airing on national broadcasters across Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

From cutting-edge docs on green tech and entrepreneurship to gripping dramas and cultural variety shows, this lineup offers insights into life on the Chinese mainland while fostering a shared understanding across Central Asia.

CMG President Shen Haixiong, who also serves as vice minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, led the launch. Chinese Ambassador to Kazakhstan Han Chunlin and cultural representatives from the five Central Asian nations joined via video to underscore the importance of this exchange.

“China has always been a trustworthy and reliable good neighbor, good partner, good friend, and good brother to Central Asian countries,” Shen echoed President Xi’s message, urging stakeholders to inject new momentum into building an even closer China-Central Asia community with a shared future.

For young global citizens, business and tech enthusiasts, and cultural explorers, CMG’s showcase is more than entertainment—it’s a digital passport to diverse stories, sustainable innovations and the power of media-driven diplomacy.
