Exploring Beijing’s Baba-Nyonya Exhibition on the Maritime Silk Road

Beijing's Capital Museum invited visitors on May 29, 2025 to the exhibition Exploring the World of Baba-Nyonya: A Peranakan Culture Exhibition on the Maritime Silk Road. Featuring 132 artifacts, multimedia installations and immersive scene restorations, the show traces the Baba-Nyonya community's history, religion, customs and art, testifying to the fusion of Chinese and Southeast Asian cultures.

Co-organized by the Capital Museum with cultural relic support from the Asian Civilisations Museum and the Peranakan Museum under the National Heritage Board of Singapore, this exhibition highlights the power of collaboration across institutions and borders.
