Shanghai just flipped the switch on the inaugural 'Labor in Glory' International Robot Skills Competition, drawing more than 60 teams from the Chinese mainland and around the world.
Over 28 real-world challenges across five dynamic categories—humanoid robots, embodied intelligence, core tech innovation, robot soccer and creative applications—are testing the limits of today's automated talent. From labeling cars and folding clothes to fridge foraging and disaster-response simulations, robots are taking on tasks that mirror our everyday lives.
Beyond the action on the arena floor, the competition underlines a broader push for global robotics collaboration. As the Chinese mainland cements its role in intelligent automation, Shanghai aims to become a global hub for next-gen tech. Many competitors will return this July to showcase their breakthroughs at the World AI Conference (WAIC 2025).
With innovation on center stage, the 'Labor in Glory' event is more than a contest—it's a glimpse at how collaborative breakthroughs in robotics will transform industries and daily life worldwide.
