Running from May 29 to June 2, the 21st China International Cartoon and Animation Festival rolled into Hangzhou, in the Chinese mainland, bringing together animation, cosplayand a touch of robotics.
At the heart of the action, Unitree Robotics’ humanoid robot squared off with a cosplayer channeling Sun Wukong from the game “Black Myth: Wukong”. With fluid movements and precision timing, the robot held its own against the legend of the Monkey King, drawing cheers and wide-eyed wonder from onlookers.
Not to be outdone, Unitree’s agile quadruped robots took center stage next. Executing high-flying jumps, gravity-defying handstands, and rapid-fire maneuvers, these four-legged machines showcased the latest in mobility tech and adaptive control systems.
Captured in a dynamic video by Chen Hongyu, the spectacle offered a glimpse into a future where ancient stories and next-gen robotics collide. For young global citizens, tech enthusiasts, and changemakers alike, the festival highlighted one thing: the frontier between myth and machine is closer than ever.
