China and Vanuatu Rally for Deeper Strategic Partnership

In Xiamen, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi welcomed Vanuatu's Foreign Minister Marc Ati to the Third China-Pacific Island Countries Foreign Ministers' Meeting, highlighting a partnership reaching historic highs.

Wang, who also serves on the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, praised the flourishing China-Vanuatu comprehensive strategic partnership. He pointed to tangible results across infrastructure, education, and sustainable development – framing their cooperation as a model of mutual respect and solidarity among developing countries.

Since taking office in February, Vanuatu's new government has pursued a friendly policy toward China, Wang noted, adding that this approach enjoys broad support across Vanuatu's political spectrum. He urged both sides to ride this wave by boosting high-level exchanges and expanding practical projects.

Looking ahead, China has invited more Vanuatu exports of high-quality products to meet growing demand and will continue to encourage Chinese enterprises to invest in key sectors on the islands, from agriculture to tourism. Leaders from both nations believe these steps will deepen economic ties and bring benefits to communities on both sides.

For young global citizens and business enthusiasts, the meeting signals fresh opportunities in the Pacific region – where strategic partnerships can unlock new trade routes, sustainable projects, and long-term cultural exchanges.
