‘AI Strategist’ Clinches Victory at CMG Robot Combat in Hangzhou

Last Sunday in Hangzhou, the 'AI Strategist' team powered by operator Lu Xin crowned themselves champions of the CMG World Robot Competition's combat series. Against a fierce lineup of humanoid mechs, they delivered a thrilling performance that blended speed, precision and an unbeatable game plan.

The remote-controlled bouts followed a strict format: three rounds of two-minute duels. Each confirmed hit earned points—1 point for arm strikes and 3 for leg hits—while strikes to the opponent's front or back counted as valid. Knockdowns cost 5 points, and failure to stand up resulted in immediate disqualification. As commentator Yu Jia explained, 'Every second and every strike counts in these fast-paced clashes.'

At the center of the action was the G1 model from Unitree Robotics, a sleek humanoid robot known for its agility and responsive controls. Unitree not only supplied the machines but also co-organized the event, highlighting its latest innovations in real-world arenas.

This robot combat is just one chapter in the broader CMG World Robot Competition Series, which will soon roll out robot football and basketball matchups. The series aims to spotlight regional robotics industries and bridge science, culture and tourism through an educational yet entertaining showcase.

For young innovators, tech enthusiasts and global spectators alike, the CMG series offers a window into tomorrow's robotic frontier—where human strategy and mechanical might collide in the ultimate test of engineering and skill.
