Under the vibrant pavilions of Expo 2025 Osaka, Hainan Week officially kicked off on Friday, placing the China Pavilion at the heart of a global conversation on harmonizing nature and modernity.
With the theme "Pursuing Green Prosperity: Openness and Shared Growth," Hainan Week aligns with the expo\u0019s vision of "Designing Future Society for Our Lives." Visitors are invited to explore how this island province is weaving its tropical ecosystems into a blueprint for sustainable development.
"Hainan\u0019s showcase illustrates a seamless integration of nature, culture and innovation," said Li Qingshuang, deputy head of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and government representative for the China Pavilion. She added that the series of events will elevate Hainan\u0019s standing as a global hub for open innovation and eco-friendly growth.
Chinese Consul General in Osaka, Xue Jian, highlighted expanding partnerships between Hainan and Japan in sectors such as green healthcare, modern agriculture and the digital economy. "We invite young entrepreneurs and global citizens alike to engage with Hainan\u0019s vibrant, inclusive vision for the future," he said.
Susaki Nobuhiko, president of the Japan China Economic Association, noted that these cross-border dialogues are set to "inspire new opportunities for collaboration," from eco-driven startups to cultural exchanges.
Running until May 25, Hainan Week goes beyond Osaka, with satellite events in Tokyo and Hyogo Prefecture featuring investment forums and trade dialogues that position the Hainan Free Trade Port as a nexus for eco-conscious innovation.
