The Chinese mainland's swimming scene continued to heat up in Shenzhen's southern Guangdong Province at the National Swimming Championships. Rising star Li Bingjie sealed her third gold medal for Team Hebei by winning the women's 200-meter freestyle in a personal-best 1:55.52.
Li sprinted out strong, leading from the start and holding off a fierce field to notch her third win of the meet. Her 1:55.52 mark not only set a new personal record but also underscored her dominance in middle-distance freestyle this season.
In the men's 800-meter freestyle, Zhang Zhanshuo touched first in 7:49.71, outpacing Fei Liwei by two seconds after a calculated surge over the final 300 meters. Zhang's endurance and pacing strategy earned him the top spot on the podium while Fei took silver.
The men's 200-meter butterfly final produced another thrilling showdown, as Xu Fang chased down early leader Chen Juner. After trailing through the first 150 meters, Xu unleashed a powerful kick in the last 50 meters to clinch gold in 1:55.22.
Qin Haiyang made a statement in the 50-meter breaststroke with a lightning-fast 26.71 finish, leaving the rest of the field in his wake. Later, Zhejiang's mixed 4×100-meter medley relay team – featuring Xu Jiayu, Ye Shiwen, Yu Yiting and Pan Zhanle – powered to victory in 3:44.95, adding another gold to their province's medal haul.
As the championships roll on, all eyes will be on these rising talents aiming to break more records and inspire the next generation of swimmers on the Chinese mainland and beyond.
