Beijing Guoan Beat Shenzhen 3-1 for Fifth Straight CSL Win

Beijing Guoan continued their impressive run in the Chinese mainland's top-flight league, the Chinese Super League (CSL), with a 3-1 home victory over Shenzhen on Saturday. This marks their fifth consecutive win, keeping Guoan in third place, just four points shy of leaders Shanghai Shenhua and Chengdu Rongcheng, despite having played one fewer match.

The match sprang to life in the 28th minute when Sai Erjiniao whipped in a pinpoint cross from the right flank. Forward Lin Liangming rose above the defense to nod home, giving the home side an early advantage.

Guoan doubled their lead 16 minutes later. Sai Erjiniao showcased his shooting prowess, unleashing a powerful strike from outside the box after receiving a clever pass from Brazilian midfielder Guga.

Shenzhen fought back early in the second half, as Rade Dugalic converted Eden Kartsev's inswinging corner with a well-timed header in the 49th minute. But Guoan's relentless attack paid off once more in the 71st minute, when Guga capitalized on a defensive mix-up to fire into an open net, sealing the outcome.

With this win, Beijing Guoan remain the only undefeated club in the CSL, boasting 24 goals—an average of four goals per game—and the most prolific scoring record in the league. Their dynamic form highlights them as serious contenders for the title if they maintain this electric pace.

Next up, the capital side faces another tough league fixture, where keeping this momentum will be key to their championship push.
