Xi Highlights 80-Year China-Russia Cultural Bond at Commemoration Event

Chinese President Xi Jinping tapped into history and friendship in a letter to a people-to-people and cultural exchange event in Moscow, marking the 80th anniversary of the joint victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the Soviet Union's Great Patriotic War.

He noted that eight decades ago, the Chinese people and the Russian people united to defeat fascism, forging an unbreakable bond that set the stage for today's flourishing bilateral partnership.

Xi emphasized that strengthening people-to-people and cultural exchanges holds deep significance for enhancing mutual understanding, urging media outlets in both countries to launch grassroots initiatives that connect hearts and revitalize bilateral ties.

The event, co-hosted by China Media Group and the All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, featured film screenings, art exhibits, and forums designed to deepen cross-cultural dialogue.

On the same day, Russian President Vladimir Putin also sent a congratulatory letter, underscoring the shared mission of honoring historical memory and driving fresh momentum in trade, technology, and people-to-people collaboration.

For young global citizens, entrepreneurs, and digital nomads, the anniversary highlights how cultural diplomacy can spark innovation and build bridges across borders, fueling new partnerships in creative industries and beyond.
