China, Zambia Lead Global AI Capacity-Building at UN

China and Zambia co-hosted a side event of the Group of Friends for International Cooperation on AI Capacity-Building at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Attended by representatives from over 70 countries—including Russia, France, Brazil, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Ethiopia—and international bodies such as the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the UN Office for Digital and Emerging Technologies, participants spanned Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas.

Speakers highlighted the urgency of boosting AI skills across borders, emphasizing inclusive strategies to ensure AI tools benefit diverse communities and support sustainable development goals.

This collaboration underscores how emerging markets and established powers can unite around tech-driven solutions, paving the way for future joint initiatives that empower innovators and changemakers worldwide.
